Joshh's 2nd Version of the End of the World

The End of the World
The end of the world phenomenon has been going on since 1844. The biggest one however is the one that’s coming up on December, 21 2012. It is the last date on the Mayan Calendar. Nobody knows the exact reason of why they stopped producing the calendar but many believe that it will be the end of the world. Most believe that they just didn’t want to have to keep making them but a lot of evidence is pointing to it will not be the end of the world. People have been saying it will be the end of the world for generations. Nobody can truly name the exact date the world will end because nobody truly knows. And I   believe that the world will not end and in about 10 years there will be another phenomenon and more and more people will get riled up and be put back down again.
The author’s purpose of this article is to inform us about the upcoming event 2012
The main idea of this article is to inform us about 2012 and everything we need to know about it.
Most of the things the article said were opinions on the world ending because nobody really knows what will happen, there were some minor facts about it but none to major.
The authors of my source are Matthew Restall and Amara Solari and they wrote for the Washington post. They might not be telling all opinions but 6thye are only 2 guys with journalism degrees and probably don’t know a lot about science

Joshh's Version of the End of the World

The end of the world is a date set by the Mayans. The scientists that believe this say this because it’s the date the Mayans stop creating calendars. They think that since the Mayans stopped making the calendars that means that it will be the end of the world. The authors purpose for the source is to say all about the end of the world and if its true or not which he doesn’t know because nobody can predict the exact day the world will end. The author’s viewpoint is his opinion which is that the world will not end because new studies show that the scientist that said the Mayans stopped creating calendars miss read it and were off by 50 to 100 years! His article was not bias because he gave both sides of the stories saying that maybe the Mayans were right because they did predict some fairly accurate days. The source was reliable because the author was writing for the Washington post.
1st Analysis

The author’s purpose of the myths of the end of the world is to persuade people that the world will end of the year 2012. Well the source I had I will say that it really didn’t give me a lot of credibility or a lot of information for me. The source had a lot of opinions and not a lot of facts. The main idea of my source was about how the world will for surely end on December 21, 2012. The author had a lot of opinions about the end of the world. One of them was saying that the Mayans calendar was off.

2nd Analysis

The author of my other article purpose was to inform and persuade the readers about the end of the world may be caused by the new the planet “Planet X”. The source says that since Earth rotates around the sun, and the Planet X rotates also but since it rotates so fast that maybe if the Planet X hits Earth we could fall out of The Solar System. This source was very bias and to me had a couple of facts. All the other sources I read didn’t match up to this one and they weren’t reliable like this one. The author’s main idea of this source was to inform the reader that Earth might have an end if this new planet knocks it out of The Solar System. This supported the authors opinions and their supporting details.
